Christ executeth the office of a prophet, in revealing to us,1
by his word and Spirit, the will of God for our salvation.2

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. . . In him was life; and the life was the light
Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things
that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.
But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ,
the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.

For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man:
but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father
will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
